Sunday Afernoon

Ah, a beautiful Sunday afternoon on a gorgeous spring day...

The grass is greener, the birds are out singing (one can only assume), the sky is bright blue without a cloud in the sky... All in all a perfect day to head outside a bit for an afternoon stretch... Perhaps a little flexing as well if we're so inclined for showing off...

But yeah... Judging from the perfect outdoors weather, I'd wager maybe ditching the cumbersome jeans for a lighter pair of shorts might be somewhat more appropriate. (Note: You can tell a day is particularly gorgeous when even during mid-afternoon, the moon is clearly visible outright overhead mrgreen.)

Now back to just removing the jeans and... uh, wait, I think the belt might've latched onto your!...

...shor... oh... guess you don't mind. Figures... Anyhow perhaps pulling your shots back up might...
o...k rolleyes... Well... I suppose it's kind of hot outside, so... um, yeah. Well, on the bright side, at least you kept your hat on, so I guess you're not, well... hmm...

Out of this World Photography

In a word... well, I'm at a loss for one at the moment... Suffice to say every now and again it's nice taking a minute out of the day, stopping in our tracks of a moment, and just soaking how amazing this floating ball we all live on truly is.
Amazing, amazing shots for a... more often than not amazing planet.

These fantastic photos were taken in celebration for this year's Earth Day, and were recently featured on (what I consider) the greatest photoblog currently on the net; The Big Picture. And on a day when the south-east of the US just experienced another devastating act of nature, I figure it's all the more appropriate just taking a moment to appreciate the awesomeness that is essentially all our homes.

And yes, I am a believer that the future of this planet currently rests in our hands... but... for the time being, I suppose we can enjoy the present by checking out a few more shots of Earth Day 2010 over at The Big Picture. While you're there, I'd also suggest checking out a few utterly breathtaking shots from the Icelandic Volcano (the name of which I won't even bother attempt spelling out).

Giveaway!!! Gold and Black Cleopatra style earrings!

So the question is (and this has nothing to do with me... lol), what do you think is the difference between being really confident and just plain arrogant? The main point of this site, and a lot of other like minded blog sites is to help boost confidence and pride. But what about those folks that go a little over aboard and think that they are god's gift to this planet. For this contest, please write in and tell us your most remember-able experience with a guy or girl, where they where just so arrogant and obnoxious that it made you want to turn the other way and just laugh. The most interesting, funny and detailed story wins! This contest ends in on April 30th at 10 pm. The prize is a pair of beautiful (brand new and still in package) Gold and black Cleopatra style earrings. Good luck everyone!

White with a touch of navy...

I really love the navy high gloss material on these chairs and in fact I love everything about this image...the fantastic mirror above the fireplace is so gorgeous too. It is the work of Cortney & Robert Novogratz of Sixx Design...such a clever and dynamic design team. I just don't know how they do it with all of those beautiful children in tow!

Hope you all have an absolutely beautiful weekend!!

Fun Chair & Update

I thought I'd share some photos of this fun chair we just had painted and re-upholstered for one of my clients. We used plain hot pink felt to cover the seat. We wanted to keep the chair all one colour and not cover the seat in a busy pattern. I can't wait to deliver it to my client. I am sure she is going to love it!

I have also had so many people ask me about the progress of our renovation and expansion. As usual, things have taken a little longer than anticipated. Upstairs is ALMOST done. I took these photos of the pink chair in our upstairs area. As you can see the cabinetry is almost complete and we are just waiting for our lighting to be installed. This should all be done in a week or so.

We will then be closing the shop for approximately 1 month from the 10th May to complete the renovation and expansion of the shop downstairs. So it is all systems go with a big re-opening party planned for mid-June! Oh and in amongst that we are moving house and having a baby so it is very full-on in my little world at the moment!!

Imani by Linda Murray

This doll is called Imani by Linda Murray. I love the details, down to the cute ponytails. The other dolls of the collection are called Jada and Joshua.
